I've quit smoking!

Daily life
Yeah, after 5 years I'm sick of this thing. Neither me or my colleagues can find any positive things about it. It smells really really bad, it shortens your life time, and it costs a hell of a lot of money. At the moment one pack (20s) cost somewhere around $15, and that adds up to ~$5500  :)

So we had this chat in the smoking room, and we decided to quit. As simple as that. The plan is to introduce a total ban on smoking in the entire building. They almost have it today, but we've got an exception from that rule, until now.

I've tried this once before, and I lasted almost three weeks. But it's actually pretty hard when everyone around you smokes.

This time it's FINAL! So which me good luck :)

go back to smoking man its good  =))
I quit smoking tobacco awhile ago to man! It is a very good thing, congrats! Stick to it..
Hope you manage it Martin B)
I am glad for you!
I have smoked for 9 years, until one day I got a really bad cold. It was that bad, that I had it for 2 weeks as I recall and I could hardly breath because of it. I just had not enough air in my lungs. That was the breaking point for me. I have said to myself - once you were a non-smoker and you managed to live without cigarettes, you can live again without them and so I did. I do not smoke since may of this year and a I feel very good now  B)
Smoked 2 packs/day for 30 years when I quit back in '94. Not only did I quit, I dropped 50 lbs. at the same time and turned into a marathon runner.

Take care of your body man, it's the only one you've got.

There, that should cover smoking, drinking, drugs, and eating fast food.  B)

Same happened to my father. He got heart problems (it pumped randomly or something), so he went in for 3 weeks. Stopped smoking for nearly three years, when he felt the need for nicotine. "How much damage can ONE cigarette do?". He's still smoking today...

Wow, did you do anything but smoke? ;d

Loosing pounds is kind of unusual, isn't it? I feel like all the kilos are waiting for me around the next corner :)

And now I don't smoke, I only drink in special occasions, I don't do drugs, and I rarely eat fast food. All I need now is some exercise!
I drove millions of miles professionally - smoking came easy. Most people gain weight when they quit, so it was work losing it. Drinking copious amounts of water helped a lot.

Exercise: get into cycling man. It's not cheap but it's so easy AND enjoyable. I also enjoy the social benefits ie I was riding with a group yesterday and got to split of with this absolute babe who was doing my pace. Babes in bikers shorts have great asses no matter how fat/skinny they are. B)
Well, its been over a month now, so I thought I'd ask how you are getting on re: not smoking B)
It's going well! :)

Took a few cigarettes every now and then the first two weeks (maybe 5 in total), but after that, NONE. I do have a steady intake of nicotine, just in other "healthier" forms B)
Still going strong?
Good Luck :)
