Greetings, all! Welcome to yet another entry in our site blog, to let you know what's been going on with the site for the past week.
Like normal, the staff has been keeping busy updating mods for IP.Board 3.0. We've managed to get a few released, but as we develop these new products we are exposing more bugs in the new software that prevent us from continuing. Right now, I personally have one big mod (Group Name Indicator) and a few smaller mods and tutorials, that are essentially 'done', but cannot yet be released since there are bugs which prevent them from being installed. Hopefully beta 4 will be releasing soon and that it will be very stable in regards to hooks and applications. Lately it has seemed like whenever a new beta comes out, we start to mod only to find a bug that prevents us from continuing. We then have to wait for the next beta, and again we find a new bug that repeats the process.
In other news, a new little clean-up project we've been working on has been trying to give a good indication as to when resources we have here are no longer being supported. A lot of times, an author will put their resources here, help people for a while, then they go away, leaving people who just found the resource with no way to get support. Since the IP.Board 2.1 and older resources are all phased out, we have gone ahead and marked those files and their respective support topics with an [Unsupported] tag. We also plan on updating their descriptions with a warning at the top explaining the situation.
In addition to these old resources, we also have resources for the current IP.Board versions where the author isn't around anymore. We've compiled a list of all resources here where the author hasn't visited the site in over 90 days. In all likelihood, many of those will also get the [Unsupported] treatment too, just so people don't site there bumping the topic every day or so expecting the author to respond.
Finally, I'm hoping to get some feedback from you. We do these blog entries once a week if possible in order to keep everyone up to speed about what's going on. We don't mind doing this, but we don't hear back from folks very often either in the comments section here in the blogs or in the topics in the Announcements forum linked to these entries. I don't know what to make of that; does it mean you don't care about what we're saying (we won't take offense, I swear!), or that you're not reading these, or that you don't know that you are allowed to respond, or that everything is fine? I do keep very busy with my mod work, helping folks on the forum, running the site, etc. If I'm just wasting my time by flapping my gums here, I want to know about that; I could use this time to be doing something else. So please do let me know if these entries are worthwhile, k?
Thanks!

I usually read the entire support topic to see if there is good support before I install, so that will help.
PS. Was I the only one where my UMI was "Uknown" and the site seemed to be down.
