I keep getting PMs asking from people asking me to make a mod for them, even after I have posted a topic in the Announcement forums, posted an Announcement in all forums, state in my signature that I do not do work over PM, etc. I'm at my wits end. I don't want to have to disable my Personal Messenger system completely, as I do need to receive PMs about relevant issues. But I cannot figure out how to stop people from PM'ing mod requests to me while not being a jerk about it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Make it so that the words modification and request can not be included in PM otherwise it cannot be sent?
I was actually considering doing that. Someone mentioned on IPSBeyond, I think, a modification someone had done to the PM system whereby if a certain member was PM'ed there was a javascript popup saying he didn't take support requests over PM, and to click OK to send the PM if it wasn't a support request. It would be kind of tricky to fully support, though, as you can't pull the 'to' member's ID via javascript if they type it in. I could check the actual Name value though...
Perhaps some kind of addition to the pm system (possibly similiar to multi-moderation) where you could send an automated reply with just one click (another reply button maybe) with a message that you do not respond to modification requests / support etc via pm and to post in the forum etc ?

Why don't you filter words out or make it so when they press okay, there is a mini-agreement. You could state that if they send you a mod request, you suspend them or remove their PM rights....
Forgot to mention on cjvj's forum, easyipb, he had a confirmation message in order to get people to stop private messaging for support, it worked out because people listened.
There's always Vadim's new PM Rules mod too - http://www.invisionm...showtopic=16787
Installed it yesterday and like it a lot. It won't stop them, but you can put in there that you'll start warning members then if they continue, remove their PM rights
.
I'm sure there's other maybe better ways, but this is a easy place to start imo.

Well I don't have an idea how to make it, but I would solve that thing by adding some kind of "allow list", or perhaps using a IPB's "friends" thing - only ppl from your friends list can PM you..? I think both of ways are pretty simple for you to make/write
MrStromy made a mod for this and he put in on IZE for 2.1 don't know if he updated it for 2.2
