I saw a topic on Digg today about someone making fancy ToDo lists in GMail and accessing them through their latest generation smart phone. I was reading through the comments and found someone mentioning that they just make their ToDo lists on post-it notes, and then they got flak for 'killing trees'. I had to retort at this point, as trees are in fact renewabale resources, and smart phones (or whatever gadget you would access these GMail ToDo lists from) are not. This got me thinking, I am really not a gadget guy like it seems everyone is these days. Consider this.
I do have a cell phone, but it is a model several years older than the iPhone or equivalent. I don't have a PS3/Wii/Xbox. I do have a PS2, but it is used entirely for watching movies. I have basic cable, but watch it sparingly, on my TV that has got to be 12-15 years old. The only video games I play are classic NES/SNES games emulated on my laptop. I have a laptop, but it is several years old, and I only have it because it was a going away present from my last job. I got an iPod as a present from that job as well, or else I wouldn't own one of those. I have a desktop PC, but it is 7 years old, and only used as a file storage device and something to connect our printer to. My car is 15 years old. I have chlothes that I still wear that are older than many of you people reading this.
I suppose my one indulgence is this here, working in some form or another with IPB. I like to write code, I like to help people fix things. I just apparently have better things to spend my money on than gadgets.
So am I odd?
