Announcement: Terms and Conditions for paid Modifications
Posted by Invision Modding News
When you purchase any Modification here, you are agreeing to the following Terms:
Before you purchase any Modification here, be sure that you ask any questions you might have about how it works in the mod's support topic. We do not expect to have to update these mods with any new features, they are essentially as-is, so we want to make sure before you purchase them that you understand what they will do. If you ask your questions then we will do my best to answer them, and it will help people later on that have similar questions. So ask your questions now, instead of coming back to us later and saying that it doesn't work like you thought it would.
The prices on these Modifications are based on the agreed upon cost we worked out with the person who originally requested it. Typically we will sell a mod here for less than they initially bought it for, simply because the mod is complete and we have no further work to do on it. We generally cannot reduce the prices on such mods, as we're already selling them for less than what they were originally purchased for. So there won't really be much room for negotiating prices on these.
Because what you will be purchasing is a computer file, which can easily be copied and/or distributed to others, when you decide to purchase a Modification, the sale is final. There is no way we can assure that if we give a refund you won't just continue to use the Modification we initially sold you, or that you won't distribute that Modification to others for your own profit.
These Modifications are our intellectual property. Any copyrights we might leave on them must be left intact unless we work out a deal otherwise. You are not permitted to redistribute these on your own. You are permitted to modify them in any way you see fit to suit your own needs, provided you don't actually remove any copyrights.
If you have never purchased from us before, when you make a new purchase we may request the URL to the forums the mod(s) will be installed on. In addition, there is a mandatory hold time of a minimum of 72 hours from the time you make your purchase until it will be delivered. This is to ensure that I do not get contacted back by PayPal that your purchase was made using unauthorized funds. After that hold time has elapsed, as long as all went well with the transaction, we will PM you a copy of the mod. Please do not send us a 'reminder' PM once this 72 hour window has elapsed, we do keep track of our sales and will send them to you as soon as we're able.
When a new IP.Board version comes out, we will do my best to either ensure the paid mods work for the most recent version, or produce an update to the mod for that new version. If you previously purchased a mod for one IP.Board version and want the newest version of that mod, you can purchase that new copy for a reduced price. The cost breakdown is as follows:
The initial purchase price of the mod is up to $20 -> The price to upgrade is $5.
The initial purchase price of the mod is over $20 -> The price to upgrade is $10.
Each Modification's support topic will be linked to these Terms, and you are expected to review them before each purchase. You are bound to the Terms that are present at the time of purchase, but new Terms may be added or existing Terms modified in the future. You would only be bound by those new terms for any new purchases made at that time.
