Before submitting a new tutorial, make sure it follows these general rules:
  • A tutorial should not be a full-blown modification.  This means users shouldn't have to do things like upload new files, import XML files, make massive code changes, etc.  The amount of code changed in a tutorial should be minimal.
  • While minimal is good, we don't want things that are too minimal.  Changing on-screen text that is stored in the language files or in Admin CP files is standard IP.Board functionality.  Similarly, just editing very small pieces of HTML from skin templates or Admin CP files to achieve minor changes is not really tutorial-worthy.
  • Tutorials should ideally be submitted for commonly requested features/questions.  If the thing your tutorial about is so obscure that nobody else has ever asked about it before, it's probably not something that is important enough to submit.
  • It should go without saying, but please don't steal tutorials from other sources; they should be your own work, or at least issues that are so common as to be considered public domain.
Thanks! :)
