File Name: (FSY22) Pips & Team Icons v1.1
File Submitter: Michael
File Submitted: 23 Oct 2006
File Updated: 25 Jun 2007
File Category: IP.Board v2.2.x Mods

If you assign a Team Icon to a user group, they no longer get the little pips that show their posting level. With this mod, you can allow selected member groups to display both Team Icons and Pips. This will allow these to display below the avatars in their posts and in their profiles.

Compatibility:
This mod is compatible only with the IP.Board 2.2.x series. Please use the IP.Board 2.3.x version of this mod if you are using IP.Board 2.3.x.

Requirements:
This mod was designed to be installed using the Universal Mod Installer, available from IPS Resources or Invision Modding.

Files Affected:
  • sources\action_admin\groups.php
  • sources\action_public\profile.php
  • sources\action_public\topics.php

Does this allow for user groups to have different pips from normal members?
I've never quite understood the appeal of signatures.

No, it only allows for selected member groups to have both pips and team icons showing at the same time.

Is there any way to modify it so that each user group can effectively have its own set of pips?
I've never quite understood the appeal of signatures.

Hello

I had this MOD installed on 2.1.7. Today i was trying to upgrade forums to 2.2.1. After installed this MOD, i get a Window in Firefox to download index.php while viewing profile. Before that i installed iPoints and even in that i get the Download Window while viewing Topic.

Now after installation, i get download index.php even at profile view. I check on my pc before installing mods and it works on localhost but not on server. In Opera it shows blank page rather than Download window.  huh.gif

I have uninstalled this MOD using the Universal installer and removed edits from file and problem is still there. I think it has to do something with server. BTW it runs on Apache 2.0 and PHP 4.3.10-18  blink.gif

The problem isn't with this mod, it's a server-side PHP error.  Here's a response from IPSBeyond regarding issues where you get prompted to download an index.php file:
QUOTE
It's a server problem... PHP is incorrectly installed or not installed at all.

Upload any .php file... For example...

CODE
<?php
phpinfo()
?>

Paste that into a file named test.php and give it 777 permissions. It should return a phpinfo screen... If it prompts you to download the file, php is not being executed on the server.

And, to be clear... Nothing you can do about it, unless you have root access to the box.

PHP is working fine. All other pages open except the Profile and Topic Page at the Moment. PHPINFO () returns the INFO. Just those two pages give INDEX.PHP to download in Firefox --- after download, i open it and its empty. The download window doesnt appear on Opera. It shows a blanl Page blink.gif

i've been having issue with pips and ranks aren't showing even before i assigned the users group icons. I installed this mod but still pips and rank titles don't show up. But if i give someone a custom title, it show up and offcourse without pips. Can someone help me out with this matter. is there something wrong with database entries or somewhere in options or code perhaps. Thanks in advance!

No, the mod doesn't take secondary groups into consideration, you'd have to purchase this mod to do that.

i really liked this mod, i finally got it work, i was just wondering is there a way that the pips can be moved above the group icon. Right now they appear below the group icon. What changes should i make to move them above?

It is against the IPB License Agreement to redistribute edited (or non-edited, for that matter) IPB source files, I can only give out editing instructions.  Please see this article for help fixing whatever is wrong with your site to cause this driver error.
