Here's a Wii update for ya!

They released the 3.0 system, which amung other things, gave us USB Keyboard support!  Only for the Message Board and Shop Channel though..  Then, they released Metroid Prime 3 which forces a system update, which took away USB Keyboard support for many people, myself included...

And Nintendo doesn't seem to know anything, because one person said that there've been several reports of the loss of USB Keyboard support after MP3 and that a fix was sure to be on it's way, and another said that the Wii does not support USB Keyboards...

rolleyes.gif

Whatever...  It was great while it lasted, but I guess they don't want people like me using the Message Board or searching through the Shop Channel.  People like me who refuse to try and type with that stupid Wiimote...

Wii update  3.1 now avaliable. They have added support for a USB keyboard on the internet channel.
Also, over at the Nintendo website they are offering free 'Wii remote jackets', which apparently will help protect the remote from damage if its dropped. Whether or not it will soften the blow of being smacked in the head by an over enthusiastic player remains to be seen!

I'm heading there right now. The jacket sounds cool even if just for a better grip/feel.

Nintendo has made a new version of the Wii Remote wrist strap available to replace the original one used in early product shipments.

Please visit
http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/strapreplace.jsp to determine if you need to replace your wrist strap. You will be able to view pictures showing the difference between the original and new version of the strap at this site. When requesting the new wrist strap, you will need to have the serial number of your Wii available. The serial number starts with LU and is found on the Wii console below the barcode.

New channel released today.  It's called "Check Mii Out Channel" and it's basically a thing where you post Miis and vote on them.  I could go into detail, grab some screen shots and what not...  But, it's really not worth it.

Check it out for yourself and judge for yourself.  If you have a ton of free time on your hands to do stuff that has nothing to do with video games.

EDIT

Some other updates not mentioned as far as I can tell:

You can order free Wii Remote Jackets for your Wii Motes if you bought your Wii before they started shipping the Wiis with them.

Go here to see if you qualify:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/jacket/jacketrequest.jsp

As of update 3.1, USB Keyboards are now offically supported.

Picked up Galaxy on Tuesday, one word: Amazing.
Graphics are excellent, and don't get me started on the instruments... my jackets arrived last week and I'm glad, I've got enough scratches on there already. laugh.gif The only problem with it is that the Guitar Hero "Guitar" cannot fit it in when it's on. Project H.A.M.M.E.R was canceled. sad.gif
I still need to go pick up the new Medal of Honor Heroes II Game, you can't beat 32-Player Online play without use of friend-codes.

My copy should be here tomorrow. One advantage of shopping online is that you usually get new releases a day early. smile.gif

I bought Endless Ocean the other day, cracking game. Very relaxing.

I played Galaxy at Wal Mart a few weeks ago or so.  Didn't care for it myself, but I didn't like Super Mario 64...  Mario will always be a 2D game for me...

Is MoH:Heros 2 out yet?

@Edgeworth, I'm curious about Endless Ocean.  Far as I know though, it's not out here in the states till sometime next year.  I could be wrong though...

You mean we got something before you guys? I'm stunned.  w00t.gif

Anyway, the game itself is just so chilled. Theres no real goal other than swimming around interacting with fish. You get the occasional request, such as taking someone out for a dive and helping them view certain fish.
There are over 200 species of sea life to "meet", plus wrecks to explore and treasure to find.
Plus you get diving partners such as a dolphin (which i named Ecco... i'm a sad bastard), and they follow you around.
SD card support too so you can have your own music. smile.gif
To swim you just point and hold the B button. Thats it. You use the dpad to select items. No Nunchuck.

Its not for everyone but its so damn relaxing its hard not to like.

Edgeworth has resigned.

Yeah, and IGN gave it an 8.4, considering it the best FPS Controls ever for a home console.

Latest Updates:

Wii Shop Channel now offeres a "Gifting" feature.  You purchase a game and then give it to someone on your Wii Friends list (your friend gets it, not you).  It seems to know if your friend already has the game, so you don't have to worry about buying something they already have.

You can include a message to your friend, and they will recieve the "Gift" in the form of a Wii Message Board message.  Included in the message will be a link that will take them directly to the Wii Shop Channel to download their gift.

The Photo Channel also has an update that allows you to change the icon for the Photo Channel on the Wii Menu.  It also replaces MP3 support in the Photo Channel to AAC.  Any games that support MP3s will continue to support MP3s and not AAC.

You can delete the update in your Wii Data Management if you don't like it.

Those contests are rigged man... the guy that won for Mario looked nowhere close to resembling Mario... I did a very good one and didn't place 2nd or 3rd lol
