Hey,

On my forum the: "We have 5,449 registered members". Is messed up, it does not count up anymore.

EDIT: It has just recounted, but the ID of the latest member is higher than the number on the board count.

If you ever use any kind of validation of accounts, then you will have this issue, I have the same 'problem' here.  When a member registers, they get an ID#.  If they never finish the validation process (by clicking the link in their email, or getting the admin to approve them) then they never get counted as a full member of the site.

The newest member of my site is ID# 660, but I only have 532 members.  I have had 128 members never complete their validation.

Ahh, well that explains it.

I switched to admin validation to try and ensure a rather troublsesome member does not return...

I disapproved some accounts, that must be why.

Thanks fusoya!

Also if you have deleted members it doesn't re-assign numbers, so most boards end up with member numbers that are higher than the total member count. Not sure if that can be fixed really as it's probably an auto numbering field.

It can't really be fixed easily.  Probably about half of the tables in IPB refer to this ID# in some form, they'd all have to be updated if you change a member's number.  Throw mods into the mix, and they generally also refer to member ID #s, and it becomes virtually impossible to make something that can reliably update a member's ID#.
