There's no built-in option for that, one would have to make a task to do it.

I created a basic one for my own use here, using some hard-coded values specific to my own forum.  I could turn this into one that has more control and put it up for sale in my paid modifications section.  Probably $15 like the rest of them.

I plan on adding some settings into it so you can control it a bit more.  I want to have it so you can select which forum(s) to prune topics from (you can select more than one, but they'll all be on the same schedule) and whether or not the pruned topics will be deleted completely or moved to the trashcan.  Do these sound like good settings to have for this mod?  What other settings would you like to see?

The scheduling will all be handled by the task manager side, so that can easily be setup the way you want.

That would be great! I can't think anything else to add to this, the part about choosing whether to delete or move topics sounds good.

The only other thing I could think of, but don't know if it would be too much work would be for the task to only prune topics with less than x amount of replies or with no replies

How exactly would you want that to be handled in the settings?  Would you like a text box where you enter in the number of replies a topic must have in order to not be pruned?  Something like: "Only prune topics that have this number of posts or fewer (leave blank to prune all topics)".  Or would you like a dropdown box with different options like "Prune all topics", "Prune all topics with 0 replies", "Prune all topics with less than 5 replies", etc.

Another setting I think would be good (as it's something I use) is to determine whether you want pinned topics to be pruned.  I don't prune the pinned topic in my test forum, but maybe someone uses their test forum to test things with pinned topics, and they want it pruned.

I think the drop down box would be best, the option for pinned topics would be useful too...there's no end to your talent is there!! tongue.gif

The only problem I see with doing the dropdown is how many options do I show?  I'm thinking:

All
No Replies
Fewer than 5
Fewer than 10
Fewer than 20
Fewer than 50
Fewer than 100

Will this be good?

I think I have this mostly done, just have some final wrap-up testing to do.  I decided to go with a text box where you can input a number for the number of replies a topic must have in order to avoid being pruned, I feel this adds more flexibility to the mod.  You can put a 0 in that box to avoid this limit (and it's 0 by default anyway).  It's a pretty slick looking mod, in my opinion. wink.gif

No file edits needed, by the way.  Upload some files, run an installer, do some settings, and you're done. wink.gif

K, it's done.  Check the Modifications for Sale forum to see the topic for this mod.  The topic has a built-in form to purchase the mod, just click the button and it'll send you to PayPal to do the purchase. smile.gif

How did the purchasing procedure work for you?  Was there any 'weirdness' in the transaction or did all of it go pretty well?  I've not actually tested it out any further than clicking the Buy Now button, just want to make sure that the process after that went smoothly.

I'm researching something whereby I can get an automatic email with the mod to be sent back to the purchaser, but I have to apparently dig into the PayPal API to find out how to do that.
