Becoming a Premium Member here at Invision Modding is something I get asked about often, so it's time I pinned a topic about it.  Here's how it works:

You get promoted to the Premium Members group when you make a donation to the site.  I don't put any lower limit on the donation amount, but please don't donate less than $5 or so, it's not really worth either of our time with a donation that small, considering the PayPal fees.  You can also get promoted to the Premium Members group after purchasing one of my modifications from the Store.  Please read up on the Terms and Conditions in there before you purchase, as those transactions are subject to a hold time for first-time buyers to ensure the PayPal transaction went through OK.  Yet another way to get promoted to the Premium Members group is when I do paid work for you.  I think maybe you're sensing a pattern here: anything that brings money in to this site (specifically, one of the @invisionmodding.com PayPal addresses) will get you this promotion.

So what does being a Premium Member mean?  Well, you get access to download for free a few other mods I don't make available to the public.  You also have a few new mods available for purchase that normal members don't get.  You have your own forum to discuss things with the other members of the Premium Members group or the staff.  And you have a general increase in what permissions you have on the forums, such as being able to hold more personal messages, more attachment space, more frequent display name changes, etc.  Not to mention the gratitude of the staff here, because it is your donations that keeps this site running and allows us to keep serving you!

Clearly I need to clarify some things here, as I have had to refund two members' donations since going on vacation.  A donation should be made to this site because you like this site and you want to support us, it should not be made just because you want to be promoted to the Premium Members group.  Being a Premium Member is not something you should think about as something you can buy yourself into, it is a perk I give for those who truly want to support this site and keep it running.

I promote people once I check my email from PayPal that tells me they donated.  I can only do this from home in the evenings as my work network won't let those emails through.  The promotion is done manually by me, it's not something that occurs automatically.  If you donate to me and I don't promote your ight away, and you PM me asking why you didn't get promoted, I will refund your donation.  I am serious in the fact that I don't want your money if all you want from it is to get promoted.
