Attached File  screenshot.jpg   39.82K   42 downloads

  • File Name: Members Online Hover
  • Author: China J
  • Category: Component 2.3.1, 2.3.3, 2.3.4
  • Description: When this is installed, there will be a hover effect for the active user links at the bottom of the board index. Place your mouse pointer on the names listed in the active user area and you'll see small pop-ups displaying their avatar, name, age, location, join date and last active time. Age and location will depend on the user having entered this information. However, You can turn the modification on and off, and you've got control over what's included in the member details.

FYI, there is also details included for those of you that have currently "Members Online Today" and "Group Name indicator" installed. Also there will be skin packs available for free in the download system so that you can change the look & feel of the hover box.

All monies received will go to Peekaboo Missing Child fund and therefore all monies sent for this Modification must be in the form of a donation. What that means is that you must specifically Choose transaction type = Donation and state in your paypal description/comments that the monies sent is for Peekaboo Missing Child fund Member Hover and in return as a gift, you will be sent this modification as a thank you for your donation. Any funds sent for this modification that are not addressed as Donation will be rejected!

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS FOR ANY DONATIONS RECEIVED

02/28/2008New features:
  • Task – Will run every 1 ½ hours to update members that don't have a avatar chosen with a default avatar – The time can be adjusted under the task settings in ACP. Suggestion – If your board has a slow rate of new members set the task to run every 12 - 24 hours. If you are a busy site and get members every few minutes to a few hours then set it to a minimum of 1 hour (I still suggest 3 hours so they don't feel rushed) – This will give your new members a chance to explore your site and upload their own preferred avatar. If they get a default avatar, not to worry as they can change it at their leisure.
  • Gender Based Default Avatars – Based on gender so if a person is of female gender will be given female avatar and vise versa the same for male gender.
  • No Gender Selected Avatars – If a person does not select a gender then they will be given a Gender Not Selected Avatar.
  • New Features Require No additional Edits.
  • Avatars are site global - Will display in profile, posts and Members Online Hover
Bug Fixes:
  • Issue Fixed with Members Online List obtaining members visited in last 24 hours instead of members visited today. So the mod is working correctly where the list is reset at Midnight your time in your view as well the members view.
  • The issue with default avatar is now resolved with the above new task
Removed:
  • Removed the "Extras" folder as this is all handle by the task and xml file now. So that means there is no extra edits to have this feature… Yay!!!
Thanks to Mohamed for his assistance. ;)

It is not a mod what I'm looking for, but I like the Idea to support the Fund.

China J, would it be possible to get an official receipt for the donation?

Yeah that's kinda of the idea is to let you quickly see profile details without need for clicking every member name in the online list to see some quick details. Placing it all over the board would be a lot of file edits  ;)

@China J, would it be a huge effort to display the mouseover effect in the index view (e.g. Last post by: Tom Next)

China_J, do you have any ideas why the Mod doesnt work?

I have checked all settings as well have double checked the code changes - the code is exactly modified like described. In ACP the Mod is enabled....

In IE and Opera my Java Menues does not work after adding this line

<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2" src='jscripts/online_hover.js'></script>

Seems that there exist an conflict between the different scripts.
After removing the menue works properly.

Actually it's something else at your site. The error is there even with this mod not installed(shows up in IE error list and FF error list). Seems that you are missing ')' this somewhere. Could be the menu system or something else. Did anyone modify the AnyLinks Dropdown menu tn_user_menue.js file when they did the menu system? That's the file that's throwing the error in all browsers. As said the menu in IE will work without that line, but the error is still there and should be looked at because this can affect other things in the future you may wish to add.

missing ) after argument list

Maybe someone with more knowledge can give us a answer?

China_J, I've seen that it works now. Thanks for your help!

It could be that the Menue script is the cause why it doesnt work.
I've installed it by following a tutorial here. At first It has not work (probable because of the SEO Mod). I've asked the Admin of CSEO and he have changed the js to this version I'm using now.

I've no idea what could be wrong but I'd really like that this as well as all others works properly.
So If anyone has an idea what the problem could be I'd be very happy to get assistance

@China_J, I'll reply to your Email soon.

Two issues I have encountered while using this mod:

1. Section Members Online Today: It is showing members who connected the day before, and even earlier, so it messes up the "Online Today" stat;

2. The order in which members are displayed on the "Group Name Indicator" is also affected, as the new mod makes this list show the most recently active members first, and the "Manage Display Order" setting for the "Group Name Indicator" mod cannot override this;

3. Although I ran the "extra" queries to establish an across-the-board avatar size, I still get various avatars in different sizes.

Any ideas as to how to solve these issues?

Other than that, great mod!

Thanks!!!

1. Just noticed that too...Seems to be recording past 24hrs instead of cutoff at 12am Midnight (will look into this asap)
2. I will look into this and try to resolve (Have an idea as to why)
3. Should be the Max size what you specified. Anything smaller will keep it size. The query resizes anything larger than what's specified ie. someone has a 120x120 avatar currently, it will resize it to the specified size example 90x90 so that no avater will be bigger than that.(I'll look into something that makes every avatar exactly the same size but this will also stretch avatars that might not look so good stretched if you catch my drift?)

I think we already discussed this, but try moving the shout box edit for the wrapper further up above than what is asked in the edits. The mod works fine with D22 Shoutbox, but that shout out mod you have I am unsure, but I do know that's what is affecting your menu for sure. ;)

China_J, probably you have discussed this with any other User. Since I'm using neither the one nor the other Mod I'm the wrong person to adress this issue.
