I hate to post this, but I figured Michael would want to know and I have received this three times today.

The forum came back up in Australia about an hour ago, it was down for over 12 hours, yet, checking recent posts, it was being posted in all that time!

DNS is a funny thing sometimes.

Yeah, I was starting to get people getting errors in the new site as soon as I did the nameserver change, but it took a few hours before I saw the changes here.

The DNS is really starting to upset me, the site has been failing me this morning just like the Server was re-booted.

The ibf_sessions table keeps crashing for some reason.  Going to try the tip bfarber posted here about changing it to be a HEAP table to see if that helps.

I was on a semi-dedicated server with Jaguar PC, I'm going back to my old host A Small Orange on a large Shared package.

Last Aug I moved from ASO shared because of intermittent pesky server downtime. I'm with HostGator (also shared) now and since Aug there was one problem that lasted about an hour or so. I picked them after searching their forum and finding fewer problems than ASO forum, and they were taken care of quickly.

A quick read of the ASO member forum should scare off anyone thinking about hosting with them, although all hosts have problems from time to time.
I had them for a while, hostgator I mean. I had them for 4 months and then I was told the rpg systems I have are not allowed.
that would be the army, battle, and inferno rpg.

Name is Amy, I install IPB mods and skins.

Hi, Folks.

I'm extremely sorry it's been necessary to move from my server. We've had endless problems with it, and now we'll be moving to Caro.net.

Unfortunately. All the problems was due to JaguarPC supplying us with a rust bucket of a server and increasingly bad support.

I would like to wish Mike all the best on the new server.  ;)

Cheers,

Ian

I think Invision Modding is the definitly the best IPB support forum. But it is often very slow loading still.
Is it only for me? Maybe I'm too far away from the server or something..

It isn't slow for me about 90% of the time, but once in a while, there is a bit of slowness, but I think it is something that is expected of a site so large, so I don't mind it.

I had to get a dedicated ip on my host a few days ago, and my dns still has yet to propagate on my isp, but noone else is having this problem.  Totally sucks ;)
I do all mod installations for $5!
