This announcement is to let you know about our plans to set a policy on our schedule for what versions of IP.Board and other IPS software products we will support. In short, we will offer support on products for 2 years after a new major version is released. For purposes of this policy, a major version is defined as something like IP.Board 2.2 or IP.Downloads 1.2, not IP.Board 2.3.5 or IP.Gallery 2.2.3, those are considered minor versions.

After much research into release dates and HTML table building, here is our support schedule as it stands presently:

A few notes to this: any versions older than the ones listed above (and yes, this includes IP.Board 1.3) are considered to be expired. Also, since IP.Board 2.2 and 2.3 are so close, we will consider them for all intents and purposes to be the same; the release date of that version will be the release date of the 2.2 version for determining support expiration dates.

So at this time, support for all the following has ceased:

• IP.Board 2.0 and earlier
  
• IP.Blog 1.1 and earlier
  
• IP.Gallery 1.3 and earlier
  

The support forums for these will be turned into read-only archives. This will be what happens the next time we have product support expiring, which will be on December 6th of this year when IP.Board 2.1, IP.Blog 1.2 and IP.Gallery 2.0 support ends. While we would have liked to maintain the lofty goal of maintaining support for everything forever, too many of us simply do not use the old software anymore to be able to answer questions on it.

As announced, support for IP.Board 2.1.x, IP.Blog 1.2.x, & IP.Gallery 2.0.x has officially ended today.  All topics regarding these products have been moved to a read-only archive.  If you're still using this out of date software, upgrade!
