A demo can be found on our forums, but the whole idea is seeing this is a beta, it goes on a test install, and therefore it doesn't really matter if you try it, because it won't do any harm if its not on your live board. Installations painless aswell

Undo the file edits.
Or just turn it off in the settings if you're planning on installing it again when it's stable.

You can undo the file edits, and remove all the files for a complete install. Though if you just want the profiles back, you can edit the settings for this component (Admin ACP -> Components -> [AH23] Socialiser -> Global Settings) and turn it off, this will change the profiles back to normal

We will post a full changelog sometime this week, but Beta 2 is full of new features, and allows even more customization, we advise you to check it out immediately!
We would also like to thank everyone who has helped test this release so far!

Yeah I'll get onto that today, we uploaded beta 1 a while ago but it was the encoded copy.. I'll upload the latest build which our testers have access to (360+), its a few builds higher than yesterdays beta.

We use the PHP5 version of Zend as this is a PHP5 only modification, by that error I am assuming you have the PHP4 version of Zend Optimizer.

Optimisation here and there, lots of mini-features, the main goodie is the Group Management system

[AH23] Socialiser 2.0.0 Public Beta 4 is now available for immediate download!
We are pleased to announce that the final public-beta is now available for you to download and install on your development-based environment. Public Beta 4 sees various improvements from the previous Beta releases. We have incorporated small changes based on feedback received in the previous Betas.
The javascript files in Beta 4 have been stripped down to as small as possible, all comments and new lines have been stripped, just like the standard IP.Board files. We have gotten the file size around a third of its original state, meaning that this should dramatically increase loading times for dial-up users, and/or users with a slow internet speed.
We must stress that this release, whereas it may not have any serious bugs, is still not fit for an live environment and we do not support Beta releases. To prevent this being used on a live site, the release, as always, has been encoded and will expire on the 6th October 2008. A Release Candidate will be available around that date.
We'd like to take this time to thank all of you who have helped with the Beta process, RC1 will be the last release for new features, because as soon as RC1 is public, Socialiser2 will be feature-locked. If you have any comments about Socialiser, please post below, or if its about a specific change which we have revealed in the Company Blog, post it there!

We are pleased to announce that the first in our range of release-candidates for Socialiser2 is now available for immediate download!
The Core Functionality RC (as we like to call it) is simply that, all the core code should fully function apart from a few bugs in some places. This is where all the features are 90% complete, and nothing new will be added. The code has also been optimised and we have spent the whole week going through every line in every file, reducing the file size by getting rid of useless junk. You'd be surprised that we found quite a lot of files which were not even used by Socialiser at all!
We are really proud of how well are optimisation has gone for this release, and we'd love to share the figures. The official download size for Public Beta 4 was at 1,028KB (just over a megabyte), not that high, but pretty high for a IP.Board modification. We are delighted to tell you that after 10 days of non-stop hard work, the RC1 file size is just under 540kb! Thats a massive 460kb saving!
The encoded version (Zend) is not 540kb, but the unencoded version is, due to the way Zend encodes the files, they actually get larger, and therefore the release size for the RC is just over 800kb. When we ionCube the final release, however, it will be 540kb, if not lower!
Apart from that, the RC is just like any other Beta, but a relatively stable one. We therefore recommend that the Functionality Release Candidate is installed on a live environment. If you are worried about doing this because the file will expire in 14 days, do not worry! We coded it so that if you turn Socialiser off in the Tools and Settings of your Admin CP, it will revert everyone back to the normal profiling system. This means that once the file has expired, you don't need to undo the index.php edit, just turn Socialiser off and you are back to normal!
Our testers have been doing an amazing job these past few weeks trying to find as many bugs as possible, but as always, finding every bug is simply impossible. There are thousands of different configurations out there, and every website is different. Therefore we would appreciate it if you could post all bugs or comments about Socialiser2 in the Tracker, or designated forums.
When we are ready, we will be releasing our next release-candidate, the Full Functionality Release Candidate. This release will make sure that absolutely every part of Socialisers functionality is 100% working, apart from a few bugs here and there. This RC will include as much bug fixes as possible from the CFRC.
And of course, after that will be the Documentation RC, followed by the Gold release candidate, but more information will be posted about that when the Documentation RC is out!
We hope you enjoy the core functionality release candidate, and we urge you to test it on your live site and get your members views on it, thank you!

I would recommend some screens, since I know this is a great addition to my forum. But I am not exactly sure what it does.
