Even if IPB did have Topic Moderators built-in, I'm sure it wouldn't be as sick as this looks.  I don't have any real need for it, but I've been thinking of buying it just because of the demo.

Please build ur replies on facts before jumping on some one's mods
in my opinion this mod is by far the best moderation-related kind of mods that has been released this year!!!!

As it is now, an administrator has to add a moderator to the topic.

I have a question: the users that are granted permission to moderate the topic, can they also moderate replies to it? For example, delete/edit replies?

Feature suggestion: only assigned moderators can reply to topic. (why? well, I can think of several scenaries where it would be nice to let  x users participate in a topic).

You choose what rights you want to give to the Topic Moderator from:

- Edits all posts (replies) in the topic (of anyone).
- Delete all posts in the topci.
- Close/Open the topic.
- Pin/Unpin topic.
- Etc...

So, yes.

You could close the topic, that way only the moderator can reply

I bought it, it's a 'good job' indeed.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. The permission settings to post in a closed topic is a per-group setting, not per moderator. So no, at the moment it's not possible.

But, it can be forced with two simple file edits.

Open ./sources/action_public/topics.php and ./sources/classes/post/class_post.php (Same edit is for both files)
Find:

$this->moderator = $this->ipsclass->cache['topicMod'][ $this->ipsclass->input['t'] ][ $this->ipsclass->member['id'] ];
				$this->ipsclass->member['is_mod'] = 1;

Add below:

$this->ipsclass->member['g_post_closed'] = 1;

Save and upload

Just note that this will allow all topic moderators to post in a closed topic. It is possible to set it based on other topic moderator permissions. Just let me know, and I'll adjust the edit to suit your needs.

I can't get the file edit for /sources/action_public/forums.php to work.  Every time I try to do it, i get a fatal error, any idea why?

Just saw a typo in the instructions.
The last edit in that file should be added above, not below.
