As we await the release of IP.Board Beta 2, and the fixes that it will bring to help us make any Hook modifications, our work has focused on upgrading our Applications. As stated in a previous entry, in order for us to upgrade the site to IP.Board 3.0, we need our Tutorials, Store, and Services system upgraded. So this past week, work has been taking place upgrading these, starting with the Tutorials system. While the Store and Services components will be replaced by the Client Service Center component at some point, it will not be ready for the site upgrade to IP.Board 3.0, so we need to upgrade these old components to continue using them in the meantime.
In order to help us with the projects we work on, we had been trying out a project management application. The results of this trial were pretty bad, none of us were very used to its interface and it seemed overly complex for what we needed. As a result, we've scrapped this program and are instead moving to using IP.Tracker. It has been installed here, but at this time it is only set up for staff use; members won't be able to see the link for it, and even if you did browse to the proper URL you won't see any projects in it yet. As we unveil stuff to the public, we will be able to open sections of the Tracker up to you for bug reports and such.
For the second week in a row, we have promotions to talk about, but just one this week: Vince has been promoted to the Management group. He's done a great job for us and for you for several years now, and he makes some of the best mods around. He's also been very active in trying to motivate the rest of us in our projects, so it's only natural that he should take this leadership position on the staff. Feel free to join the rest of the staff in welcoming him to this new position!
Stay tuned for next week's entry!
