Hey Martin, I am a noob to IRC, can you please tell me what i need to do to create a server?

IRC Server:

IRC Channel:

idk what those are :S

Thanks!

EDIT:  Found it!

I put the following as my IRC Server:

irc.collectiveirc.net

then just put in any name and it created it.

Question:  Is it possible to create a hook for this martin, that will show who is online the IRC channel?

Since IRC are accessible trough various applications (like mIRC (windows only) and X-Chat), that kind of information is hard to get. Unless the IRC network you're using have some kind of website where you would get that it.

You can make as many chat rooms with IRC as you like, unless the network is set up not to.

Is this mod compatible with 3.0.0 Final?
or just the RCs?

in the final version, when you go into the My Apps > (IM) IRC Chat, it just re-directs to the dashboard.

Make sure the modules for the application is imported.
You'll either get a warning message in your dashboard telling you that the modules are out-of-date, or probably when you click the applications name in the list of applications. Should only be on module there named "Settings".

Can I get a hand here guys?

I downloaded it, and then did the following...

I've uploaded it twice, is two places hoping it would work.

One is in my public html, and one my public ftp.

Once I uploaded it both times, I extracted the files, deleted the readme's/screen shot.

But in my ACP I don't see the irc application to install in either the "My Apps" tab or the Applications & Modules page.

What am I doing wrong here?

Extract the file on your machine instead of uploading the whole zip.
The content in the "upload" folder should be uploaded to your forums root directory.

I can't actually upload the entire folder when it's already extracted, it just forces me to open the folder towards further documents, which is why I extracted it already there. The root directory should be public_html as well, which is why I'm confused.

I'm a paying customer of IPB, and use their control panel to upload files, is this the problem? It's listed as cPanel File Manager v3, and what I did was basically find the zip, upload it, extract it, delete the extras and have just the bare upload folder. Then made sure it was located in my public_html file, which from what I can tell is the root directory. Anytime I'm told to go to the root directory and find a file, the file is in the public_html.

So, once I've got it extracted and in the 'root directory' (does not say root directory in any file locations, unless you mean I need to take it a step above the public_html, which I tried already, and that is the furthest back in the files I can go) I go to try and find the app in my ACP. System tab -> Applications & Modules -> Manage Applications & Modules  and.... nothing.

Sorry for being such a pain, but I just don't quite see what I am doing wrong here?

When you've extracted it to public_html, is there a folder named "(IM) iRC-Chat", or "upload" there?
In that case, there's your error. The folders in the "upload" folder is what you need to copy/move/upload to the forums root directory.

Do IPS give you a FTP account? If they do, you can send that information to me, and I'll upload the files when I get back home later tonight.

I deleted the (IM) Irc-chat part, and left it as just the upload folder, but I'm still unsure why things won't work. I appreciate the help, and I'll shoot you a PM your way with the FTP account.
