File Name: (FSY23) Website Change Logs v1.0
Author: Michael
Category: IP.Board v2.3.x & v2.2.x Mods
Description:
This modification is designed for sites that need their members to fill out the Website field in their profiles. It is particularly useful for sites that need to see their members' URLs in order to verify the sites they are giving assistance to are not running pirated software. With this mod in place, all new registering members will be required to fill out their Website field when they sign up, and existing members will be forced to complete this field as well in order to gain full access to the site. The mod also includes a staff page where all changes to this Website field are logged so you can verify any legality issues. From this log page, you can warn members who attempt to enter obviously invalid URLs (such as google.com), and ban members who enter URLs to sites that violate your site's guidelines.

Admin settings include being able to set who this mod affects, who can access the logs, being able to enter a 'whitelist' of pages where members can visit without completing their Website field, options for creating topics automatically when members are banned, and options on how to handle members who get warned through use of this mod.

Requirements:
This mod was designed to be installed using the Universal Mod Installer, available from IPS Resources or Invision Modding.

Files Affected:

  • index.php
  • sources\action_public\profile.php
  • sources\action_public\register.php
  • sources\lib\func_usercp.php

Would be great if you could choose a field to fill. For example, I want my members to fill the Location field. Next time I may want to make them fill the Birthday field and so on. Can you expand your mod a bit?

I like this and ordered it.  Is this the same mod you made for this forum to verify members?

Everything about this mod is built around this one particular field in the database, it's not so easy to throw a switch in there to check for other fields instead.  Even if I could, I'd then have to add a whole bunch of different language strings and settings for the notifications that go out through the use of this mod.

Yes, it's exactly what is used here.  It's on its way to you now.

That's what I was thinking and hoping for.  I will also be recommending this to my clients.   Thanks, Michael... ;)
