File Name: Global Forum Message 1.0.1
File Submitter: Michael
File Submitted: 26 May 2009
File Updated: 14 Dec 2010
File Category: IP.Board v3.0.x

A quick little hook that will enable you to have a simple global message showing at the top of your forums. You can turn the message on and off, specify which group(s) can see the message, which page the message displays on, and specify the text of the message to show using IP.Board's editor.

Awesome! Thank you!!!

General box shows the Icon as

"http://localhost/ipsdev/ip.board_3.0.0_RC1/public/style_images/master/comment_new.png" something you missed when getting things together to post. ;)

OK, that issue, and a few others, should be resolved now.

;) What else did you fix? Now it won't show up at all for me. I'll stick to the first release, the error message gets more attention anyway. But in the second release it shows the index page as forum/index something when you switch that one setting on. And on your first release, all I had to type was /index and it worked.

So idk...

Turn on the setting to print the page location value, I had to change how that worked since I can't rely on the query string value anymore. The instructions should give you more information on what to do for that.

Just put * in the 'pages to show the message on' setting.

Just seen that the BBcode isn't being parsed on the "Active Content" page.

I can't reproduce, it parses fine for me. What exactly were you trying to put into the message that didn't parse?

I did that... played with all the settings but it doesn't seem to show up for me at all. Perhaps I overlooked something, I'm late and it's tired.

Aha, figured out the problem once I finally saw this happening. Expect to see a fix for the new version when I post it.

Do you mean that when you turn on the option to display the page location value, that it's not displaying for you? It should just show up at the very top of the page, some black text on a white background.

This doesn't seem to be working after upgrading to RC2?

Edit: Ignore that. I was still using 0.9.2 ;)

My IPB version is v2.3.6, not 3.0.x. I apologize for posting in the wrong support topic.

If you installed/uninstalled it trough UMI, that would mean you're using IP.Board v2.3. This support topic is for the 3.0 version.

Yes, I just realized my mistake a couple of minutes ago and edited my post to apologize. I'll post in the right section now.

I believe you've already posted about this over at my site, but yes, it does work, at least this latest version (0.9.4) does.
