It's been a while so it's time for another Invision Modding News update, and the first once since Martin has taken over the general ownership of the site.

As some members have asked about this site being upgraded, rest assured we will be upgrading. We have been making preparations for upgrading, but there are a few needed items still to be worked out and finalised before we are ready for that, simply as we want to remain the best by having all needed resources and applications ready before we upgrade. We are partly holding off until Tutorials is ready and we are currently evaluating several replacement ideas for the current Services system too.

Our Website Change Log's application is also proving to be a great benefit to us in helping to screen out those who seem to think it's acceptable to run nulled boards or distribute stolen software, which is something we will not tolerate here. It is slightly more administrative work for our staff but we feel it's an acceptable compromise to know we are all helping the genuine and not the thief's.

As you are aware, IPS released IPB 3.0.0 as final a few days ago. We are pleased to see a general increase in modifications now authors have a finalised code base to work with, although the release candidates were quite stable enough for most to work with. We expect skinner's will have some nice skins out soon too especially with the IPS skinning competition as encouragement. For those members here who have entered the competition, we wish you the best of luck! :)

We also have an exciting new application in the works. We will not reveal all as its still very much at an early alpha stage at the moment, but lets just say installing mods will be even easier ;)

That's it for the moment, stay tuned for our next entry!

oh yess I bet its a mod installer ;)

Although as much as I love digging through this new code...this would save a bit of time for some of the larger mods that require alot of template edits.

Isn't it already easy enough to install mods with IPB 3.0.0? Most don't even require file edits anymore.

The idea behind this is that the new mod installer will actually download the files and upload them to your forums without you having to do it yourself. In other words it will be automatic in getting the modifications uploaded, all you have to do is click a button.
