Description
This hook allows you to quickly toggle your visibility (with AJAX) on the forums without the need for logging out.


Change log
v1.0.2 - Fixed AJAX issue when there's a session ID in the URL. Now it also updates your session, making the changes immediate to other members of the board.
v1.0.1 - Added group permissions

The link should be placed before logout! It makes no sense after logout and help. And sure, we should set which groups can use it. Otherwise, it won't have any user on online list... everybody will use it.

If only there was a hook point there, but it isn't.

I installed it as in the instruction:

Log in to your IP.Board Admin CP and visit the System tab -> Applications & Modules -> Manage Hooks page. In the 'Install a New Hook' section, browse to the XML file included with these instructions and click Open. Once it installs this hook, be sure to enable it!

But why dont I see it? And where is the group permission setting?

Im going to sound like a complete noob here, I have just implemented the "toggle visibility" function into my board and upon click it is coming up with "bad request". Now im not sure if its server side not being able to deal with AJAX but I shouldnt think so as i have Shoutbox 1.1.1 online currently.... Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you've uploaded the files.
If you've changed your admin directory, you have to upload the files to that folder instead.

All of my staff can see anonymous members. Is there a way to set which staff groups can see the anonymous members and which groups they remain hidden from?

It doesn't really have anything to do with this topic mate, but to answer your question go look in the group permission settings..

I am not sure this works exactly they way I expect it to. I installed it fine with no issues. Here's is what I did:

Enabled Hook for my group (Admin).
Logged in as Me and toggled visibility off.
I can see me in the list of members online.
I waited 1 hour, opened a different browser and logged in as Test account (Members).
Test cannot see Me.
I go back to Me and click on View New Content
Test can now see Me

I've reproduced it a couple of times now. Did I miss a step in installation?

Not able to reproduce your issue, but I think it's related to me not updating the sessions data. If you didn't perform anything after toggling your visibility, it would never get updated.

If fixed a few issues now, try to upgrade to the new version, and see if the issue persists.

can we change Toggle Visibility text to "Visible" and "Invisible ". if member is visible so member see invisible if member invisible then they saw visible text ?
