Is the topic your sending to facebook viewable to guests? Facebook needs to view the page itself.

Did you clear your browser cache, I assume by clicking facebook, this is no longer an issue? See this post regarding facebook.

Could the option be added to change the button text to something other than, "Bookmark"? I'd rather use "Share" instead.

I also wonder whether the option could be added to place a button to the bottom of the first topic post (by the edit, quote, etc., buttons).

You can change that in your language files. In Admin CP > Look & Feel Tab > Manage Languages > select language > Social Bookmarks tab > public_socialbookmarks.
Regarding the other suggestion, I want to keep this edit-free. There are some shortcomings in the IPB3 code regarding hooking into that place. This is something I can review for IPB3.1 however, if this hook is still required in that version.

What string I should add for LJ?

String that is
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml?event=%url%&subject=%title%

isn't working. it's just add body message like "http://forum.url/index.php?showtopic" at all. Without number of topic and without subject... Putting any commas also has no effect.

I don't have knowledge of all the different bookmark services. But here are 2 sites I was recommended that contain a list of bookmarking sites. Examples for LiveJournal might be included.

Thanks, but there're no strings for LJ for GET posting method. I got a decision from one man: "You need to escape any =, ?, and & in field values by replacing them by the %xx hexadecimal equivalent. The equality sign gets translated to %3D and the question mark gets to %3F, so that would be
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml?event=http://blabla/%3Fshowtopic%3Dvalue

I tried
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml?event=http://blabla/?showtopic%3Dvalue
even with "?" and all works fine.

So, could you add %3D in your code because "showtopic=XXX" is standart IPB construction? Or add special LJ section?

Try this edit and let me know how it goes.

Open hooks/socialBookmarksMenuTopic_############.php

Find:
$this->registry->output->buildSEOUrl( 'showtopic=' . $topic['tid'], 'public', $topic['title_seo'], 'showtopic' )

Replace With:
urlencode( $this->registry->output->buildSEOUrl( 'showtopic=' . $topic['tid'], 'public', $topic['title_seo'], 'showtopic' ) )

Save hooks/socialBookmarksMenuTopic_############.php
