I finally upgraded a forum from v.2.3.6 to v3.0.5 (so far I really like v.3), and have installed joomla to be used on the main page of the same domain. Before installing Converge, I have a few questions:
1. log in username - does it have to be changed to email? I know a few sites, IM included, had gone to email log-in a couple of years ago around the time Converge was first released, but is it still the case? I'm asking because this particular board's members aren't the most computer savvy, changes make them nervous, so I'm thinking if I can keep using username as login I'll stick with it for now.
2. does it matter whether I install Converge in the root directory (where joomla is installed) or the forum directory (sub directory in the root folder)?
3. I read about a joomla/IPB module somewhere...where can I find it?
Questions about Converge before I instsall

1. You can use username logins with Converge now, although I've not tested this with 2.3.x.
2. I'd recommend a separate directory for Converge, do not attempt to put it inside your forum directory. Use a separate database too.
3. There's a lot of information in this Blog entry > http://community.inv...?showentry=3224 and the download category is here > http://community.inv...nverge-modules/ , and there is a .pdf download of documentation available here > http://community.inv...-documentation/

Thanks AndyF. I'm going to give it a go later today, hopefully it'll go smoothly.
