I realize this is the second thread I've posted, so forgive me.

I can see in the Administrator CP how to view all recent actions carried out by moderators. You can also view the actions carried out on each individual thread and look at its history, even things as small as title edits.

However, is there a way to UNDO an action taken by a moderator? As in, reverse it/cancel it out? This would be so incredibly powerful and useful to have.

Thank you once again.

This is a Modification related issue, moving to the proper forum.

I've moved this to Modifications as you would need a modification to do this, although I am not aware of one. Come to think of it, I've never seen this requested before either. ;)

The only 'undo' really is to see what they did then perform the opposite action if possible.

Apologize about the wrong forum. Heh, I myself get frustrated on my forum when I see other members doing this, so I feel quite silly now, haha.

Well, you are right that the best thing to do is to figure out what a moderator did and do the opposite. This works MOST of the time. However, there are some cases where it is difficult and absurd to even try.

For example, on my forum, one of the moderators decided it would be fun to merge some old topics together, amounting to over 5040 pages of posts, literally. "Undoing" this action would mean going through the topic, selecting each post individually, and then splitting them off! If there was a moderator "undo" function, it would restore the threads as they were.

(The reason why this is so important is because these threads have a LOT of history in our forum, going back six years - they were each an annual tradition and they were meant to stay preserved).

Thanks for your help though.

I see.

Although there is no 'undo' action unfortunately for this, save restoring a complete backup ;) (which is not ideal anyway)

I know I'd be unhappy if one of my moderators (decided just for fun) to merge topics together without reason...

Perhaps they should spend some time 'undoing' their action ? :)

I cannot think of any other method to do what you want (apart from a full restore from a backup which would result in the loss of any data between then and now) unfortunately...
