I apologise if this has been posted before, but it is driving me INSANE!

A lot of my forum members access via a mobile connection and as such we limit users to posting photos at a maximum size of 640x480. We used to use PhPBB software - if a member uploaded a photo of 3000x2000, the software automatically resized it to 640x480 - BRILLIANT!

IPB 2.3.6 doesn't have this feature ;)

I have searched and searched for a Mod/Hack that will do this for version 2.3.6.  with no joy :)

Any help will be very gratefully received :)

Many Thanks

Bill

It does resize them, but it has to load them at full size first, so its not 'resized' in the sense the file is resized, only the display of it is. ;)

ACP > Tools / Settings > Topics / Posts / Polls > 'Showing Posts' >

'Automatically Resize 'Large' Images' = Yes

'Automatic Image Resize Percentage' , default is 50, try 25 or 35 here.

Scroll down to the 'Attached Image Options' section.

'Show thumbnail of attached image?' = Yes (you don't have to but if you wanted to reduce the width its not a bad idea)

Attachment Image Thumbnail Size [width] and [height] , although not really meant for 'large' thumbnails, you can try setting these to say 640 and 480 or so to force a smaller image to appear.

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't help.

I want the ACTUAL photo to be resized to 640x480

If the photo is still 3000x2000, but showing as 640x480 it STILL screws up my members on mobile connections ;)

I have actually found a Mod for V3 - it works very well for photos of 1000x700 - it resizes them. However a photo of 2000x1000 hangs the software.
