Hello friends I was recently hacked and had my hosting company take out the redirect but it seems like no one can acess their accounts since the site now reads (Offline)

I tried to log into my admin panel and it will not let me. Says username or password is incorrect.

I know the info is still there as I had a couple of my good members try to access the admin panel and it says they are not allowed access and with me it just says password or user name is incorrect.

Is it possible the hackers took me off admin access?

I tried to google the info and it reads I can possibly give myself access through phpmyadmin.

I don't have access to any member number just member names.

Can someone please explain how to do it in laymen terms. I am lucky enough turn on my computer let alone no anything about Cpanel although I can get into my c panel.

You guys have helped me before so thanks in advance!!

Even if you got access back, there's no way to know what other account they've compromised... they could just get in again..

Can you still log in to your cPanel ? You can add yourself as admin, yes... but like I said above, that won't do much. The hacker is still in your site.

If it's just your forum that's compromised, rebuild the database (with the backup you should have...?) and find out how you got hacked and fix it.

You posted this topic in the 2.2 and 2.3 support forums, but you say your host upgraded you. v2.3 is not an officially supported version. Did they upgrade you to v3.1?
There's a difference in the method you use to regain ACP access in the 2- and 3-series.

Thank you Martin for your response. Right now I have version 2.3.5 Right now I need to get into my admin panel before the upgrade.
Is there instructions on how to access my admin panel I have several usernames I can use if the hackers deleted my username.

In PhpMyAdmin you do something like this:
UPDATE ibf_members SET mgroup=4 WHERE email=<email address>
Where "<email address>" is the address used on one of your other accounts. After that query is run, you have ACP access with that account, and are able to reset the password on your original account.

Martin thanks for that info, I never knew about using phpmyadmin there is a world of data and info in there~!

Ok update
I tried 3 different names and updated them to group 4 and no success
It still says
Username or password incorrect

Is there any other section where I can see if the log in is locked?
