Is it safe for me to turn this setting off as one of my members can't stay logged in when he's at work than at home but don't want to change it if it will cause some kind of issue?

Yes although it does slightly reduce the security a bit.
If you wanted an alternative, Tools / Settings > Security / Privacy > 'Enable X_FORWARDED_FOR IP matching?' = yes , for AOL users in the UK this needs to be yes or they get thrown out a lot.
Try that enabled for a day. Leave the stronghold cookie enabled. If they can stay logged in leave it on. Otherwise turn it back to 'no' and then disable the stronghold cookie.

Did it work ?

I'm not sure as yet, waiting for him to get back to me. I mentioned that if it doesn't work this way then only by turning off the stronghold cookie would fix it but also a bit of a security risk so I think he may just manage as it is. Anyway, logging in and out isn't so bad.

Okay, it seems that the X Fowarded did not work. I am going to leave the stronghold cookie on though. I think that's the best option considering it's a security risk.
Thanks for your time.
