RESOLVED: Locked accounts, many failed attempts?

Hello :)

It is set up so that when a member fails to log into their account it will lock after 15 minutes, that is fine.

When I look in Management, Manage locked, I can see around five members 3 staff, myself included have had many failed attempts trying to log into their accounts. I don't recall any for about ten days to which I had changed my password at the time so that is only one that I can recall but it is showing that I had one today which I know I haven't and there are multiple IP address's showing up using my account for the failure.

What does this mean and can I do anything about it at all?  :unsure:

It's happening a fair bit lately mostly on 2.3.x boards , here's a similar story on IPS.

You can ignore them but ensure that you and your staff have decent passwords. I would suggest looking at the range of IP's attempting to login to their accounts and ban them if possible / practical. :)

Ah right, well I am glad it's not just my board then.

Yes, I have mentioned it to two of the staff and will let them all know about that.

What does this captcha mod do to help with this problem? Sorry, just can't see for looking.  :blush:  :D

Edit: Ignore that, I can see what it does now. Thank you. :D
