help with tar

hello sorry if this has been posted befor but i canot find it i am wanting to export my skin as tar file but dont no where to go i have looked on the net but coulding find anythoing about exporting it as tar can someone please help thanks.

using ipb 2.3

I don't think you can directly. What you can do is export it as normal then extract the .gz and then compress it into a .tar. :)

I think you need winrar or 7-zip to do it. They both have trial versions as far as I know.

If you Google for "Make .tar on Windows" there's lots of options :) , its nothing special its just another compression format, a bit like .zip vs .rar that's all.

ok done that but when i open it ipb skinner it sayes thet the template htlm is missing

It should be there if it was present in the skin.

Is it a 'child' skin ? , choose to export the 'parent' too if it is. (this means a skin based of another one, change the dropdown to choose 'export customizations in this skin and any parent skins'

still canit get this to work in ipb skinner still saying template is missing
