File Name: iRC Chat 2.0.1
File Submitter: Martin
File Submitted: 23 Oct 2011
File Updated: 24 Oct 2011
File Category: IP.Board v3.2

File Information
Resource Type: Application
Version: 2.0 (20000)
Compatibility: IP.Board 3.2

Description
This application implements Mibbit or "PJIRC" in to your current forum layout. Most of the settings are controllable trough your ACP.

Mibbit vs PJIRC
Mibbit have been added as a recommended option to this new version. Mibbit is powered by AJAX, and is thus much quicker than the Java applet PJIRC uses. PJIRC is also very outdated, and haven't recieved an update in many years. New versions of Java will also flag the PJIRC applet as unthrusted/unsigned, which might scare your users.

Mibbit is ready to be used straight out of the box. How ever, if you have a custom skin with a different color scheme than the default IP.Board skin, you might want to change the colors used in Mibbit. To do this you'll have to go to their Widget Manager and create your own widget. This allows you to choose your own skin, or even customize it with your personal color scheme.

When you've signed up, you'll get a confirmation email from Mibbit. In this email you'll see your new "Settings ID", this ID will have to be placed instead of the existing ID in the iRC Chat settings.

Updated, thanks :)

One think I noticed when debugging. With SwiftIRC you can't use their regular server address when using a web client, instead you have to enter webirc.swiftirc.com:5003 as the IRC Server.

I just installed this mod IPB 3.2 I have configured the settings in ACP and I uploaded EVERYTHING in the UPLOADS folder. When a user clicks on the CHAT link it tries to take us to a sub directory /ircChat this directory was NOT included in the uploads folder so the user gets a 404 error.

Any ideas?

Is there any way to make it so the Channel Rules show up at the top (or bottom) of the chatbox instead of left or right? I say this because the chatbox size shrinks substantially on my resolution (1280x800). Without the rules on either side of the chatbox, it looks much better.

Great update to your chat application, by the way!

Sorry for the double post, but just wondering if my question could be answered or not. Thanks, and Merry Christmas! :)

You could place it on top, but as the resolution is automatically adjusted to the size of your browser, the height of the chat box would be lower. I can add it as a "splash screen" for the app, like a page where you first have to agree to the rules before you're allowed to enter the chat room, or open as a popup (The IPB style popups used for other things). That way you'll have all the space available for the chat box.

I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function showMibbitChat() on a non-object in /home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXXX/admin/applications_addon/other/ircChat/modules_public/chat/chat.php on line 143.

Hi, just wondering if there is any chance of adding LightIRC to the next version of this.  It is far superior to mibbit or pjirc for and irc web client.  I don't know enough about ipb yet to even attempt this or I would...

Thanks
