My forum should look like this, with tabs at the top for forums, members, calender etc.: -



Only sometimes, I visit the forum index and it looks like this: -



Then if I click "More", I get this: -



When I refresh the page, it'll change between the first and second image at random.

Any idea what's going on?

I've seen that before but its dependent on browser resolution, if you open a small browser window it will do that, the purpose it to ensure the tabs don't 'spill over' into a new line.

It is dependent on a couple things. It's very tricky for me to fully understand, but I know that if the board itself is not wide enough, it will display the dropdown menu and put as many links into it that are needed to keep the primary_nav links displayed on one row. But I don't know about browser resolution. I haven't been able to test that yet.

However, if this only sometimes appears for you, it might be some bug in IPB. Are you using the default IPB skin or is this modified in any way?

I'm using the default IPB skin which hasn't been modded in any way. I've tried opening my forum in a small browser window, but I can't force it to display that "More" menu. It just happens at random, cos even in a small browser window I still get the tabs almost always.

I only noticed this happening recently. I think it may be an issue with the way Opera (my default web browser) is rendering the page, as that's the only thing that's changed in the last couple of weeks as I updated to version 11.60. I haven't made any changes to the forum since updating to 3.2.3 and that was quite a while ago now. I'm using the same screen resolution as I always have (1,680 x 1,050). I'll try using a different browser for a while and see if I notice the same thing happening with that.

What about your logo? Does anything in your logo or any other part of your header change on its own every so often? Or is everything static default IPB? I see you are using your own logo. What is the height of that logo image? Have you changed the ipb_styles.css branding minimum height to be the same height as your logo image? That might help. It will keep the primary_nav below the logo for sure at all times, which might be part of the cause of your problem. The logo might overlap the primary_nav and therefore the primary_nav shrinks into the "more" menu to counter that.

The logo is a single image (643 x 76 pixels) that never changes. No customisations have been made to IPB, other than using the easy logo changer to add that logo.

I just don't see why it changes from refresh to refresh, as one minute it's fine and the next minute I see the "More" menu instead of the tabs. If the logo was changing and one logo was larger than another, then I could understand it, but that's not the case.

Agreed, that's why I don't understand it either. If you aren't changing anything, nothing should differ upon refresh. However, I just went to your board and refreshed about 200 times, and I could not duplicate the problem on my end
