Initially had 3.1.4, made a backup, then tried upgrading the gallery software to 4.0.4, it failed during the upgrade.

Went to the backup database, its corrupted and no good.

next, uploaded ip.board 3.2.3 files along with IP gallery 4.2.1 files to the server
but the upgrade failed now blowing out the board

when trying to view the board, only the following shows:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method IPSLib::haveAppsWithLike() in /home/tnt/public_html/cache/skin_cache/cacheid_1/skin_global.php on line 182

Suggestions appreciated, my members are going to lynch me if I don't get the board working again, HELP !

What errors did you get during the upgrade?
The error you're seeing is a known error when using a 3.1 skin on either 3.0 or 3.2.

Is this the forum you have listed as your website URL in your profile? That seems to be working.

The forum in my profile was a problem when upgrading also but was resolved a few weeks ago.

The error during the upgrade looked related to the gallery module. The upgrade never completed, and I have tried every combination for 18 hours yesterday but I am stuck. Have a database that was backed up when 3.1.4 was working and gallery was corrupted and have pointed to that with 3.1.4 files and it won't load either.

Based on the skin error above, is there any way to fix that problem and deal with the gallery problem later. Thank you very much for your help.

just now i was able to use a backup of 3.1.4 with corrupted gallery database and get the board back up. However the gallery (which is very important to this forum) displays the following when opening

Fatal error: Call to a member function home() on a non-object in /home/tnt/public_html/admin/applications_addon/ips/gallery/modules_public/albums/home.php on line 91

Within the admin cp it shows ip.gallery version 3.2.2 but have a feeling those gallery tables are corrupt since the gallery upgrade yesterday failed. I am happy the board is at least up and running, but wonder if I should go back an old backup database of 3.1.2 and just export the gallery tables and import them into this database, then try to upgrade to 3.2.2 or just try to upgrade to gallery 4.0.4 again even though i tried that yesterday without success many times.

You may have to do a manual upgrade of the tables. Pull the table upgrade files out of the package, run the upgrade via AdminCP, open the upgrade table files and do the upgrades from phpMyAdmin manually. Of course download a backup of everything before you do that just in case.

thanks, i just did what you described right before reading your post and am up to ip.gallery 4.0.2 now. I did notice during the gallery app upgrade the header of the upgrade box said ip.board 3.2 even though my board is showing 3.1.4 and the forum files were not trying to upgrade. I may go for version 4.0.4 which i think is the last one for the 3.1.4 era.

Was wondering if there is a table that keeps the details on all software upgrades and do forum members here change things in there when there is a need to 'force' an upgrade or similar.

Thanks again

There is a table titled 'upgrade_history' that keeps those records. I have seen where an application version in the AdminCP was one version behind the actual upgraded application. The member uninstalled the application completely and then made sure the 'upgrade_history' was clear of the same application before reinstalling. This is probably not what you would want to do considering you have data on those tables that you will need to keep.

i ended up with 4.0.2 as during the 4.0.4 upgrade (the actual spot was 2/10 within the 4.0.3 stage) the script looped on the album subscription update page. click to forward had no effect. After many attempts I ended up copying the 4.0.2 files back on and leaving it as is. At least it is functioning now.

Will have to bring this forum up to ip.board 3.2.3 and ip.gallery 4.2.1 eventually. I usually embrace each new major upgrade but I'm sorry 3.2.x is UGLY and the admin cp seems like it was designed by Stevie Wonder.
