Does IPB use the sendmail service on the server ?

I thought it does but I see it turning off after manually turning it on

Thank you

It is using whatever method is default for PHP, which normally is sendmail. You can set it up trough the settings to manually connect to a SMTP server, which will bypass the PHP default.

martin, i just don't remember whether sendmail was on or off previously and was looking for the problem with subscription manager suddenly not working including email notifications of new subscribers (IPB 3.1.4).

I have now made sure sendmail is off and tested a new registration and it does continue to send the email verifications without problems which leads me to believe it is using the built in IPB mail not sendmail or smtp which is fine with me.

Just the subscription manager module seems to be what i need to look at, will try and figure that out, thank you.
